What every licence includes

There is no feature ladder. A research licence and a production licence are the same software.

  • Every machine we support: 6-axis robots, gantries, XYZAC and XYZBC kinematics
  • Every slicing method: planar, conformal, non-planar, voxel
  • All updates for as long as the licence runs
  • One remote training session for your team
  • Email and remote support during office hours (CET)
  • Post-processors in readable Python, yours to modify

Discounts and options

Everything below is applied to the base price. These are rules, not negotiations, so you can build a business case without calling us first.

First year
Production licences get 25% off in the first year, so the first invoice is €7,200 and the second €9,600. We put both numbers in the quote.
More than one cell
From the second cell the rate per cell goes down. The exact rate depends on the number of cells and is stated in the quote.
Prepaid multi-year term
Pay two or three years up front and receive one invoice and one purchase order. Useful when procurement is set up for capital purchases rather than subscriptions.
Extended support
Standard support is email and remote, during CET office hours, and it is included. Guaranteed response times, reserved engineering hours or on-site days are available as a separate support agreement.
Custom engineering
€120 per hour, scoped and estimated before we start. Kinematics for a machine we have not seen before is quoted as a project.

Before you buy

Can I buy it once instead of subscribing?
There is no perpetual licence. The closest alternative is a prepaid multi-year term: one invoice, one purchase order, one approval. If your procurement is built for capital purchases, say so and we quote it that way.
Is there a free trial?
No. A slicer you cannot configure for your own machine tells you nothing in two weeks. Instead, send us your part and we slice it for you, free. You get a link to the slicer running in your browser with your own geometry in it. Send us your part
What exactly is a cell?
One licence runs on one workstation and drives one cell: the machine, its positioner and its tooling. A second workstation, or a second machine you slice for, is a second licence.
What happens to our production if DotX disappears?
The post-processor that turns a toolpath into your machine's program is plain Python with a documented command-line interface. You can read it, change it and keep it. Toolpath data is a CSV with a JSON header. Nothing about your process is locked inside a file format only we can open. Why our post-processors are open

Find out if it is worth it before you buy

Send us your part. We slice it and send you a link to the slicer running in your browser with your own geometry in it. Free, no commitment.

The licensed slicer itself runs on your own workstation, on-premise and in air-gapped environments. Nothing about your parts leaves your network.
